Seeking part-time position in Windows-based end-user support or system administration near Providence, RI.
I’ve been a small business IT consultant for fifteen years. For the last twelve, I ran my own consulting business in Boston. I recently relocated to Providence and I am searching for a part-time position with an IT consulting company or as part of an IT department in a larger business.
I closed down my business in order to have more time free for family responsibilities and other pursuits, so I’m looking for a job that I can “leave at the office.” Therefore, the ideal position would be in end-user support (e.g. help desk, training, new setups, etc.) or routine system maintenance and administration (e.g. backup monitoring, Active Directory changes, log file reviews, etc.). I am hoping to work weekday mornings only, but I am happy to talk with you about a schedule that works for both of us.
I am very comfortable with the standard Microsoft business software – Windows XP, Windows 7, Server 2003/2008/2011 (including Small Business Server), Office 20xx – and the most commonly used business productivity tools. Any software I don’t know, I am quick to learn.
I can help with non-technical roles as well. I’m an excellent writer, editor, and proofreader, and my business education and experience could also come in handy.
